Imaging

TV Rate Framing
(60 Hz - NTSC)
(50 Hz - PAL)

Utilizes galvanometer system to achieve reliable high scanning speeds with low power consumption

Allows for a fast, flicker free TV rate image able to show the same scene dynamics as standard television

Compact Computer Designed Optics

Allows the infrared energy received by the scanner to be precisely focussed on the detector

Provides a crisp, high resolution image and allows smaller objects to be seen and measured

Standard longwave
(LW, 8-12 µm) sensitivity

Provides instrument sensitivity to infrared energy generated at room temperature

Allows the use of a small detector to provide a high resolution image with good sensitivity; provides freedom from atmospheric degradation of the image and false "hot spots" due to solar reflections

4:1 Continuously variable Electro-optical zoom

Varies the amplitude of the scan mirrors to change the field of view

Enables the user to zoom in on small targets to better identify small anomalies or measure temperatures

Measurement

Neutral Density Filter (optional)

Reduces the amount of infrared radiation reaching the detector when looking at targets above 400 C

Allows extended range (20 - 1500 C) temperature measurement; eliminates artifacts from the image due to detector time constant changes

Holds 1" diameter spectral bandpass filters

Allows the user to change the spectral response characteristics of the 700 system for special applications or to view high temperature targets

FEATURE

FUNCTION

BENEFIT

Measures and radiometrically accounts for temperature differentials between external optics and the scanner

Provides improved temperature measurement in situations where the external optics may be a different temperature than the scanner

Embedded 3.5" 1.44Mb HD Floppy Disk Drive

Allows image and scanner parametric data to be digitally stored, retrieved, and analyzed

Allows precise digital data to be stored to disk for later playback or analysis; improves temperature measurement accuracy when post processing the image; allows changes to emissivity, background temperature, and optics transmission on recall of images; eliminates photographic accessories and VCR's for many applications

The Model 700 Series are highly versatile and unique systems that combine ultra-high
resolution imaging with precision temperature measurement, in compact field rugged instruments.
The powerful microprocessor controlled electronics is lightweight, battery powered and field proven.
Built-in high speed measurement modes make it easy to measure temperatures quickly and accurately.

-Frozen Image Data Recording and Analysis

With the integral 3 1/2" floppy disk drive, the 700 Series is more than just an imaging system.
The floppy disk drive can record and store images on a standard 3 1/2" disk.  After an image is recalled
from disk, any of the measurement modes can be used for on-board image processing.  This includes the
ability to change the emissivity, background temperature, and optics transmission values.  In addition, the captured
images may be used with our thermal image processing software. Standard viewing software is included. Extended
Analysis software is optional.

  -Atmospheric Effects

The IR 700 is a Longwave infrared camera which responds from 8-12 Microns. The 8-12um region is free from any
absorption bands and thus is relatively immune to humidity.  This is why most high performance military IR systems
view energy in the 8-12um region.

  -Optics

The IR 700 comes with the standard 1x Germanium (Gm) lens & includes a unique 4x optical zoom.
Optional lenses for special applications are 0.25 x, 0.50 x, 3 x, 10 x, and 30 x
